OBJECTIVE:  To provide individuals and families with the tools and means to improve self-sufficiency.

 

Feeding GA Families 'Career*Learning Center' Workforce Development Program is designed to empower individuals through a comprehensive suite of services aimed at developing job skills, offering professional certifications, and ensuring career readiness. This program targets those who seek to enhance their employability, pursue new career paths, or start their own business.

By addressing the multi-faceted needs of job seekers and aspiring entrepreneurs, the program aspires to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and the broader community in Georgia. Through continued partnership with local businesses, governmental agencies, and educators, the program aims to evolve and adapt to meet the changing needs of the workforce and economy.

Core Program Offerings

1. Job Skills Training

  • Industry-Specific Training: Tailored programs in high-demand sectors such as technology, healthcare, construction, and more.

  • Soft Skills Development: Workshops focusing on communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership to enhance workplace adaptability and effectiveness.

2. Certifications​

  • Skill-Based Certifications: Provide access to certification in practical skills like CPR, food safety, and OSHA standards for workplace safety.

3. Onsite Training

  • Hands-On Experience: Partnerships with local businesses to provide real-world training opportunities.

  • Simulated Work Environments: Use of technology and physical spaces to simulate job scenarios for practice and assessment.

4. Career Readiness

  • Resume and Cover Letter Workshops: Guidance on crafting effective resumes and cover letters that stand out.

  • Interview Preparation: Mock interviews and feedback sessions to build confidence and improve interview performance.

  • Job Placement Support: Assistance in job searching, networking, and connecting with potential employers.

5. Financial Literacy

  • Budgeting and Saving: Classes on managing personal finances, saving techniques, and investment basics.

  • Credit Management: Education on credit scores, reports, and repairing bad credit.

  • Financial Planning: Introduction to long-term financial planning including retirement, education savings, and more.

6. Small Business / Entrepreneurship

Participant Eligibility and Enrollment

The Career*Learning Center resources are open to all individuals residing in Georgia, with a focus on the unemployed, underemployed, veterans, and those looking to pivot into new career paths or entrepreneurship.
