COMMUNITY CARES GET INVOLVED

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  Are you looking for an opportunity to help others? Do you want to help make a difference in your community? We are always looking for volunteers to help us with our mission of making sure no one goes hungry in Georgia.

​

​Children: Babies in slings or strollers are welcome to attend with you as long as they are attended to. To volunteer, children must be 4 years of age or older and an adult must be present.

​

VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES:  If you are interested or have a group of friends, family members, or co-workers who would like to get involved in helping others, we're looking for volunteers in the following areas:

•SUNDAY Emergency Food Delivery Drivers: Deliver food to clients who are homebound due to illness or disability.

 

•MONDAY Pantry Helpers: Assist with sorting and stocking food at our warehouse.

​

•Assistants: Stock, pack food bags, clean, assist as needed (heavy lift involved).

•Cleaners: Clean refrigerators, outdoor bins, kitchen, and bathrooms.

 

•Grab-N-Go: Clean/Sanitize/Arrange shelves and bins, compost, assist shoppers.

 

•Packers: Pack student snack kits, homeless care kits, emergency food boxes, Xmas stockings, Xmas gift bags, Birthday bags.

 

•Positive Affirmations: Write positive affirmation notes or Veterans Thank You Cards. Affirmation drawings and statements can be written directly on boxes/bags or note cards. Or design room signs ("Vegantry", "Processing", "Grab N Go", Grab N Go Outdoor Market", "Delivery", "Career*Learning Center", "Mary's Apothecary", "Project Companion", "Clothes*Closet", "Homeless Outreach", "Youth Services"), "It's A Great Day To Help Others!", "Xmas Gift Giveaway", "Thanksgiving Meal Event", Operation E.F.F.O.R.T").

•Road/Community Clean Up Crews: Help us pick up litter from the side of roadway on W Point Ave from Sullivan Rd to Wickersham Drive.

•Servers: Hot meal setup, prep, and serving for the unhoused.

​

•Veterans: Wreathe laying events (for Memorial Day, Veterans Day, etc.).

​

•Wrappers: Xmas gift/toy wrapping (December 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19) - Families who've pre-registered their children/household can't volunteer to wrap gifts.

 

•SOUL OF SOUTH FULTON Event Ambassadors: Assist with setup and breakdown at events and festivals where we collect or distribute food donations to the community:

-- May 24, 2025 (TBD - East Point/Hapeville Area)

-- June 28, 2025 (TBD - College Park/City of South Fulton)

-- July 24, 2025 (TBD - Fairburn)

-- August 30, 2025 (TBD - Palmetto/Chattahoochee Hills)

 

•Corporate Social Responsibility Projects: Onsite at FGF, Offsite, and Collection drives volunteer projects designed with your company in mind. Can select one or more of the above noted activities or we can custom design a project for your team. Teams of 2 to 100 depending on the activity and location chosen.

•Event Concessions Help (ON HOLD): Work at our fundraising events where we sell concessions like hotdogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks.
